In the last month, I have been to Arshiyama Park of Kyoto. I would like to give you some information about Arashiyama.
Arashiyama is famous for its cherry blossom in the spring and maple trees in the fall, and has been a scenic spot since the Heian period. Its view, which includes lush green mountains and rivers harmonized with the Togetsu Bridge, is cherished by people across the country.
The Atago Mountains lie to the north-west of Kyoto city. The Katsura River which weaves through these mountains originates in the Tanba Mountains, and becomes the Hozu River around Hozu-kyo in Kameoka before becoming the Oseki River in Arashiyama. Arashiyama Park is near Hozugawa canyon, and consists of 3 districts: Kameyama, Nakanoshima, and Rinsen-ji. Kameyama district is the hilly area to the south-east of Ogura-yama. Beautiful nature remains and one can find Japanese red pines, cherry blossom, maple and azalea here. There are also walking trails, open spaces, resting places, viewing points and children's areas to be found. Hozu-kyo is located to the west, whilst the cemetery in which three emperors rest, including Gosaga, lies to the east.
Nakanoshima district is the island in the sandbank of Katsura River and is blessed with pine and cherry trees. Many tourists visit this park to enjoy fishing amongst beautiful nature of the mountains and the Katsura River.
The Rinsenji district is to the north side of the Togetsu bridge and is rich in Japanese red pines, cherry blossom and maple trees and one can sense the elegance of the scenery.The area of Arashiyama and Sagano is the stage of many historical tales and possesses many renowned places and historical sites. Many people also visit to enjoy fine cusine and shopping in any season.
