Kalinchowk Temple-Dolakha, Nepal

In the north part of the Charikot, at a distance of 18 Km., there lies Kalinchowck temple at an altitude of 3842 miter. Goddess Kalinchowck is highly noted as a wishful filling goddess through out the country. The temple has its remarkable significance on the occasion of Janaipurnima, Dasai, Chaite Dasai, a huge procession takes place centered around the goddess. Kalinchowck is 6 hours’ walk uphill from Charikot. It is a famous pilgrimage site for Hindus. The fascinating Klinchowck hill also offers a gorgeous view of the Himalian range, enchanting hundred green hills, beautiful settlements etc. Here is some photgraphs of Kalinchowk temple and views.

  5. Few days ago, I with my brother visited Kalinchowk. It takes 2 days one night from Charikot. First time in my life I faced snow fall at peak of Kalinchowk for 2 hrs. Weather got worst. It was amazing, challenging moment in my life.

Yeap kalinchowk a gr8 place to be.Been there for 2 times wish to go 1 more time.But with the development of road the trip really seems like materialistic.Wish there was no road for vehicles only for footway 2 kalinchowk.Just like 1st time when we reached there.But everyone must go there for once

Dolakha bhimsen and Kalinchowk -- took us 7+ hours trek from Charikot bazaar to reach KURI. no Oralo only Ukalo tyo pani thadooooo ukalo....Plus 1 and half hour to reach Kalinchiowk Bhagbat temple from KURI. Almost gave up in the middle but when u r at top, all your anxiety, cramped legs and calf vanishes with the site of beautiful majestic Mountain Range.

    Could anyone tell me how much is human settlement in Kalinchowk and is there any dhami, jhakri, amchi or any other traditional healer? I am doing research in Dolakha in traditional medicinal practice. If anyone could suggest me the exact place for research in Dolakha with detail information. I would really appreciate it.

    1. Population living in Kalinchowk is about 2596 as of 2012 (DDC Dolakha, http://www.ddcdolakha.gov.np/notice.php).

      Yes you can find many dhami and jhakri in thid area.
